Situation: 101 travelers (5 women, 3 children, 93 men) start from Zawiya, Libya. No feedback from the so-called Libyan coastguard, case outcome remains unknown.

Summary of the case:
On the 30th of April 2021 at 00:50h CEST, the Alarm Phone was called by a group of 101 travelers (among them 5 women, 3 children, 93 men). They reported that they had left from Zawiya, Libya, half an hour ago in a fiberglass boat. They were in distress and said that people had fallen into the water. Our shift team informed the Libyan authorities via phone call and e-mail. After this, we could never re-establish the contact to the travelers and only received unclear information from the coast guard. So, we had to close this case without information about the fate of the 101 people.

Border police patrols
