Summary of the Case:
In the early morning of Tuesday the 27th of April the Alarm Phone was called by a boat in distress carrying approximately 125 travellers, including 15 women and 10 children, who had departed from Zawyah. Water was entering the boat. After receiving their GPS position, at 05:53h our shift team alerted Italian and Libyan authorities as well as the ngo boat Ocean Viking. The travellers were finally rescued by Ocean Viking in the early afternoon.
