Summary of the Case:
In the morning of September 21st, 2022, we are alerted to a group of 15 people on the island of Samos, who were in need of assistance. We immediately alerted the Greek authorities, UNHCR, doctors without borders and other NGOs on the island. Around noon we received confirmation that the entire group was found and is now in the camp on the island.

Border police patrols
While the exact location of patrols is of course constantly changing, this line indicates the approximate boundary routinely patrolled by border guards’ naval assets. In the open sea, it usually correspond to the outer extent of the contiguous zone, the area in which “State may exercise the control necessary to prevent infringement of its customs, fiscal, immigration or sanitary laws” (UNCLOS, art. 33).
