Following the Libyan news-site Al-Wasat and a spokesman of the Libyan navy, at least 200 people have drowned in the Mediterranean Sea, off the coast of Libya and near the coastal town of Tajoura.
The vessel was carrying up to 250 passengers, from several African countries. Only 36 of them survived.
The Libyan navy stated that it lacked resources to adequately search for survivors and retrieve the bodies of those lost at sea.
