Summary of the case: On Thursday the 29th of August 2024, the Alarm Phone shift team was alerted by a relative to a group of 28 travellers, including five children, in distress in the Central Mediterranean Sea. They had left from Al Khoms around 24 hours earlier on a white fiberglass boat. We were not able to reach the group and did not know their GPS position. However, we immediately alerted the relevant search and rescue authorities, relaying all the information we had. We were never able to find out what happened to this group.

Border police patrols
While the exact location of patrols is of course constantly changing, this line indicates the approximate boundary routinely patrolled by border guards’ naval assets.
