Summary of the Case: In the morning of the 10th of April 2024, a relative alerted the Alarmphone shift team to a boat in distress in the Central Mediterranean. The boat had started on the 7th of April from Libya. There were 40 people, including five women and five children, on a blue wooden boat, with no fuel left and the motor not working anymore. Reportedly water was coming into the boat and they were drifting. The shift team managed to reach the travellers, who claimed that one of the travellers on the boat had died because of the cold. All the information were relayed to the Italian and Maltese authorities. Later that day, the people on the boat were rescued by an Italian patrol boat.
