Summary of the Case: On the 17th of August 2023, the Alarmphone was alerted by a relative to a boat carrying 16 travellers. Two of the passengers were women, 14 were men. They have left Tipasa, Algeria, on the 17th of August in the early morning and were heading towards Almería. We immediately informed the Spanish search and rescue organisation Salvamento Marítimo and gave them all information we had. Unfortunately the Alarmphone has never managed to establish contact with the travellers.

Border police patrols
