Summary of the Case::
On the 12th of September, at 2:58 CEST, relatives alerted us to a boat with 15 people on board, with three children among them, that was in distress north of Samos. The engine of the boat had stopped working, and the boat was located in Turkish waters. At 3:10 CEST, we managed to get in touch with the people on board. At 3:12 CEST, we sent an email to alert the Turkish Coastguard. At 5:38 CEST, the Turkish Coastguard confirmed by email that they rescued 15 people close to the coast of Izmir / Seferi Hisar at the location we provided.

  • Border police patrols
     
    While the exact location of patrols is of course constantly changing, this line indicates the approximate boundary routinely patrolled by border guards’ naval assets.
