Summary of Case: In the evening of September 23rd Alarm Phone was called by a relative who informed us about a group of 28 women, three babies and eleven men in distress who had departed Sfax in a fishing boat. We were unable to establish direct contact to the people in distress and forwarded the alert to authorities at 20.15 CEST. We were unable to establish direct contact to the people in distress throughout the night and following moring. At 12.27 CEST the Tunisian coat guard informed us a SAR operation was ongoing in the area specified by the relative who had alerted us. At 16.20 CEST the relative provided a GPS position which matched the area being searched by the Tunisian coast guard. At 20.13 CEST the relative who had alerted us confirmed the people had been found and intercepted to Tunisia.
