Summary of Case In the afternoon of September 6th Alarm Phone was called by a relative alerting us to a group of nine travellers, including one or two women, two babies and five or six men who had departed Annaba for Sardegna in a wooden boat. We were unable to establish direct contact to the group of people in distress and alerted authorities at 14.00 CEST. In the afternoon of September 7th the relative who had first alerted us to the boat in distress related they had had news from their family members, stating the group had arrived to Italy.

Border police patrols
While the exact location of patrols is of course constantly changing, this line indicates the approximate boundary routinely patrolled by border guards’ naval assets.
