Summary of case: On Thursday the 10th of June in the late evening, the Alarm Phone shift team was alerted by a relative to a group of five travellers in distress in the Alboran Sea. The travellers had left the previous morning from a beach close to Al Hoceima on a blue rubber boat. The relative told us that they had lost contact to the boat, and we were never able to reach the travellers directly. At 00.15 CEST we called the Spanish search and rescue organisation Salvamento Maritimo and forwarded them all the information we had about the case. Throughout the night and the following day we continuously tried reaching the travellers without success. In the afternoon we learned from the relative that the travellers had been rescued by Salvamento Maritimo and brought to Spain.

Border police patrols
