Watch The Med Alarm Phone Investigations – 07th of August 2021

Case name: 20210807-AEG802

Situation: 1 man left behind on the way in very bad medical condition, we call the Greek authorities but are unable to find out what happened to him

Status of WTM Investigation: Concluded

Place of Incident: Aegean Sea

Summary of the Case:

On the 7th of August at 08:00 we got the information that a man in very bad medical condition was left alone in the woods in Greece in the early evening of the 6th of August. He couldn't move on his own and didn't have a phone on him. We informed the Greek police in Sapes and they told us that they will send a car.In the night we were informed about other men in bad health condition and/or dead bodies in the area. We are not able to clarify details. In morning of the 8th of August nobody picked up the phone in the borderguard station in Sapes. Relatives think that the man could be in the nearest hospital, but as the hospitals don't give out information about their patients, we are unable to confirm this. He could as well be one of the dead bodies. Until now we don't know if the man is alive or dead or where he might be.
