Situation: 2 travellers needing medical attention near Sapes, Greece, unknown outcome

Status of WTM Investigation: Unconcluded

Place of Incident: Eastern Med

Summary of the Case:

In the early early morning of the 13th of August 2022, Alarm Phone was called by a worried relative, alerting us to a group of 2 men on land in distress near Sapes, Greece. At the time of the alert, the caller related that one traveller was poisoned by the water and subsequently unconscious and the other was also very unwell. We tried to establish direct contact to the people but without success, so we alerted the Greek police at 01:52 who said they will go and search for the group. We continued to try and get in contact with the travellers but their phone was off. We don’t know what was the outcome of the situation.
