Summary
In the morning of December 17th Alarm Phone was alerted to a distress case of five people who had left Al Hoceima towards Spain. Relatives of people on the boat had lost contact earlier on the same day and were worried about the health of their family members. We received several telephone numbers of people on the boat, none of which we could establish contact to at first. At 12.02 CET we informed authorities about this case. The operator confirmed they had already been notified about this case but provided no further information. At 20.11 CET the relative who had informed us about the distress case in the morning confirmed the arrival of the five people to Malaga.

Border police patrols
