Following several news reports, on Friday the 22nd of August, Libyan authorities recovered at least 20 bodies off the coast of Tripoli when a vessel carrying approximately 200 migrants from sub-Saharan Africa went missing in the Mediterranean Sea. 16 person were alive and 20 bodies were found dead in the water.
Update: The Guardian reports on the 24th of August that there could be more than 250 fatalities.
Update II: The UNHCR reports on the 26th of August of 251 fatalities. FFM also reports on the many corpses that were washed up at Libyan shores.
