Summary of the Case:

On February 26 in the early morning the Alarm Phone was alarmed by a distress call from a boat in the Central Mediterranean Sea. The people on board were exhausted and seasick and asked for help. We informed the authorities of Malta, Libya, Italy and SAR NGO Sea-Watch at 6.42h CET. The crew of the SAR ship Sea-Watch 3 answered they were very close to the distress case and started a rescue operation. At 9.51h CET they confirmed the rescue of 45 people among them 5 women and 15 minors.
