Summary of the case: On Saturday the 8th of June 2024, the Alarm Phone shift team was alerted by a relative to a group of travellers, including seven women, in distress in the Central Mediterranean Sea. We were not able to reach the travellers but received their GPS position from the relative. We then immediately alerted the relevant search and rescue authorities, relaying all the information we had. We were never able to reach the travellers. From the so-called Libyan coastguard we received information about boats they had intercepted on that day, and we think that this boat was most likely among those.
