Summary of the Case: In the early morning of the 3rd of January 2024, travellers alerted the Alarm Phone shift team to their situation of distress in the Central Mediterranean. They were 6 people on a blue wooden boat, that had departed on the 2nd of January from Zuwara. They shared their position with the shift team, who forwarded all the information to the Italian, Maltese and Libyan authorities. At midday on the 3rd of January, the people on the boat where rescued by the search and rescue NGO Open Arms.

  • Border police patrols
