Summary of the Case: Just after midnight, on the 13th of October, a relative alerted the Alarm Phone shift team to a group of travellers in distress in the Atlantic Ocean. The group of 59 people, including 19 women and 3 children, had left from a place close to Tan Tan on the 8th of October in a rubber boat. The shift team tried to contact the travellers but could not reach them but relayed all the information received from the relative to the Spanish search and rescue organisation Salvamento Maritimo. During the days after the alert, shift teams continued reaching out to the travellers without success and contacted Moroccan and Spanish rescue authorities to find out if the boat had been rescued. Until now, Alarm Phone does not know what has happened to the 59 travellers and hopes that they have arrived on the Canary Islands.
