Summary of the case: On Saturday the 22nd of October 2022, the Alarm Phone shift team was alerted by a relative to a group of 13 travellers, all men, in distress in the Alboran Sea. The travellers had left from Al Hoceima the previous afternoon at 16.00 CEST on a grey boat. We were not able to reach the travellers, but immediately alerted the Spanish search and rescue organisation Salvamento Maritimo to the situation, relaying all the information we had. In the evening, Salvamento Maritimo told us that they had rescued a boat matching our description and that the travellers were being brought to Malaga. The following day the relative confirmed that the travellers had arrived to Malaga.

Border police patrols
