Summary of the case: On Tuesday the 5th of July 2022, the Alarm Phone shift team was alerted by a relative to a group of 19 men, including around four children, in distress in the Alboran Sea. The travellers had left from around Nador the in the evening of the 3rd of July and their relative had lost contact to them. We were also not able to reach the boat, but immediately informed the Spanish search and rescue organisation Salvamento Maritimo about the situation, forwarding all the information we had. We also informed the Moroccan rescue authorities, who confirmed to us that they were searching for the boat. Later in the afternoon, the relative informed us that the travellers had been rescued by Salvamento Maritimo at noon and brought to Almeria.
