Situation: One boat in distress in the Atlantic Sea, recued by Salvamento Maritimo and brought to Las Palmas.

Summary of the case: On Tuesday the 5th of April 2022, the Alarm Phone shift team was alerted by a relative to a group of travellers in distress in the Atlantic Sea. The travellers had left from Dakhla in the night of the 3rd of April, heading towards the Canary Islands. We were not able to reach the boat directly, and the relative had also lost contact to the travellers. However, we relayed the information we had to the Spanish search and rescue organisation Salvamento Maritimo. The following morning we learned from the relative that the travellers had been rescued and brought to Las Palmas.

Border police patrols
