Summary of Case In the early evening of October 9th Alarm Phone was called by a relative who inforemd us of a group of eleven women, one baby and 37 men in distress, who had departed Laayoune. We were able to contact the group in distress and received a GPS position. We alerted authorities at 18.09 CET. The Spanish Search and Rescue Organiation Salvamento Marítimo (SM) Teneriffa informed us a helicopter and rescue vessel were searching the area. In the evening of the same day, the relative who had alerted us to the group of people in distress informed us their brother had called them, confirming the rescue by Salvamento Marítimo.
