Summary of Case In the evening of October 8th Alarm Phone was called by a relative who had had no news of his family members who had departed Algiers in a group of 10 men, including several minors, and one woman and a small child, in the night of Ocotber 4th/5th in a red and white zodiac. We were unable to establish direct contact to the group of missing people and alerted authorities at 21.23 CET. We continuously tried to establish contact with the people on the boat throughout the night and following day, unsuccessfully so. By midday on October 11th we still had not been able to find news of the eleven people who left Algiers and need to assume they remain missing at sea.
