Summary of Case In the night of October 3rd Alarm Phone was called by a relative who informed us about a group of twelve people in distress who had departed Chlef, Algeria, one and a half days ago. We tried to reach the people on the boat via the phone number the relative had provided, but reached no one. We forwarded the alert to authorities at 01.00 CEST October 3rd. In the afternoon of the same day we see a tweet by Héroes del Mar about the rescue of a boat matching the description provided by the relative – the twelve men were rescued to Almería by the Spanish Search and Rescue organisation Salvamento Marítimo.
