Summary of Case

In the evening of May 16th Alarm Phone was contacted by a relative of one of fourteen people in distress in the Alboran Sea. The relative forwarded several phone numbers, none of which were reachable. We forwarded the information passed to us by the relative to the Spanish Search and Rescue organization Salvamento Marítimo (SM) in Madrid at 20.45 CEST. Two hours later SM Madrid informed us a group of fourteen people arrived in Spain in the general vicinity of Almería but provided no details. The relative who had initially alerted us to the case get in touch again during the night confirming the arrival of the group in Nerja, Spain; it is unclear whether independently or by rescue and what happened to them once on the mainland.
