Summary of the case:
On the 30th of April 2021 at 08:10h CEST, our hotline was called by a group of 70 travelers who had started from Libya. The connection was too bad and broke too fast to receive a GPS location and detailed information from them. After the first call, we could never re-establish the connection again and had to close the case without information about the fate of the travelers.

Border police patrols
While the exact location of patrols is of course constantly changing, this line indicates the approximate boundary routinely patrolled by border guards’ naval assets. In the open sea, it usually correspond to the outer extent of the contiguous zone, the area in which “State may exercise the control necessary to prevent infringement of its customs, fiscal, immigration or sanitary laws” (UNCLOS, art. 33).
