Case name: AP208-2020_05_15-WM462
Situation: Boat leaving from the south of Morocco rescued by Guardia Civil to Fuertavenura
Status of WTM Investigation: Concluded
Place of Incident: Western Mediterranean

Summary of the Case:
On the evening of 15th of may we were informed by a relative about a boat which left from Tarfaya the night before with 32 persons, 9 women and 5 kids in direction Las Palmas. We were not able to establish a direct contact with the travellers. When we called Salvamento Maritimo in Spain (assuming the travellers had reached out to spanish waters already), they told us they were already informed about this case by Guardia Civil. SM said they conduct a search operation, searching with an aircraft but did not find the boat. SM informed us that they will continue the search the next morning. Later in the night, we learned that a boat which would match our case was brought to Fuertaventura by the Guardia Civil. We tried to get confirmation during the night and in the next morning. The following morning, Salvamento Maritimo Las Palmas confirmed that the boat from our case arrived in Fuerteventura last night, intercepted by Guardia Civil, and all passengers disembarked. We got the same information two hours later from the relative who alerted us in the beginning of the case.
