Case name: 2019_08_27-WM411
Situation: 12 travellers rescued to Spain
Status of WTM Investigation: Concluded
Place of Incident: Western Mediterranean Sea

Summary of the Case:
On Tuesday the 27th of August our shiftteam was informed about a boat with 12 travellers rowing from Achakar since midnight. The Alarm Phone was provided with phone numbers but none of them could be reached. The shift team decided to alert Salvamento Marítimo (SM) although the lack of the GPS position. Luckily, at 12:13pm CEST contact to the travellers was established and a GPS position received. The shiftteam passed it to the authorities and also called the company of a German tugboat nearby. The Alarm Phone got to know that the crew of the tugboat already sighted the travellers and that they would stand by until the Coastguards arrive. At 1:03pm our shiftteam was informed by the travellers that they have been rescued. Boza!
