Summary of the Case: At 10.26am CEST on September 21st, 2018, the Alarm Phone received news of a boat of 5 people that was in difficulty and needed help. At 1.15pm, the shift team was finally able to get in touch with the boat. They maintained contact with the boat for the next 30 minutes, and it became clear that the boat was very much in distress. At 1.49pm, the shift team called Salvamento Maritimo, and was informed that the rescue operation was ongoing. Afterwards, the shift team lost contact with the boat. At 8.00pm, Salvamento Maritimo told the shift team that a boat with 5 people was rescued, and two days later, the Alarm Phone received confirmation that it was the same boat.
