Summary of the Case:
On 28th of August at 05:35am CEST our shiftteam got in contact with a boat with 22 travellers, one old and sick women among them. Their engine had stopped close to Kalymnos. We received their position at 05:58am and shortly after we alerted the Greek Coastguard. At 6:17am the travellers confirmed the arrival of the Greek Coastguard and later they told us they have been brought to Kalymnos.

Border police patrols
While the exact location of patrols is of course constantly changing, this line indicates the approximate boundary routinely patrolled by border guards’ naval assets. In the open sea, it usually correspond to the outer extent of the contiguous zone, the area in which “State may exercise the control necessary to prevent infringement of its customs, fiscal, immigration or sanitary laws” (UNCLOS, art. 33).
