Summary of the case: On Tuesday the 27th of August 2024, the Alarm Phone shift team was alerted by a relative to a group of 23 travellers in distress in the Central Mediterranean Sea. The travellers had left from Zawiya, Libya, in the evening of the 24th of August on a grey fiberglass boat. We were not able to reach the travellers and did not know their GPS position. However, we immediately alerted the relevant search and rescue authorities, relaying all the information we had. We were never able to find out what happened to the travellers.

  • Border police patrols
