Summary of the case: On Sunday the 9th of June 2024, the Alarm Phone shift team was alerted by a relative to a group of 30 travellers in distress in the Central Mediterranean Sea. The travellers had left from Zuwara, Libya, on a grey rubber boat. According to the relative water was entering the boat and the people onboard were panicking. Through the relative we got their GPS position and we then immediately alerted the relevant search and rescue authorities, relaying all the information we had.
We never managed to reach the travellers and the authorities did not provide any information about what happened to the boat. In the end we had to close the case without knowing what happened to the travellers.

Border police patrols
