Summary of the case: On Wednesday the 29th of May 2024, the Alarm Phone shift team was alerted by a relative to a group of 45 travellers in distress in the Central Mediterranean Sea. The travellers told us that the waves around them were high and that water was entering the boat. We managed to get their GPS position and immediately alerted the relevant search and rescue authorities, relaying all the information we had. Later, we learned from the relative that the travellers had arrived safely to Lampedusa.

  • Border police patrols
