Summary of the Case: In the afternoon of the 3rd of January 2024, a relative alerted the Alarm Phone shift team to a plastic boat in distress in the Central Mediterranean. The boat had started on the 31st of December 2023 from Sousse in Tunisia. There were 30 people on the boat. The shift team did not manage to reach the travellers and relayed all the information to the Italian and Maltese authorities. On the 3rd of January, the police of Pantelleria confirmed that that a boat with 30 people arrived with a name corresponding to the one given by the relative.
