Summary of the Case: On the 28th of January 2024, a relative informed the Alarm Phone shift team about nine travellers in a rubber boat that had departed from Bouyafar, Morocco, in the early morning of the same day. The shift team could not establish direct contact but immediately alerted the Spanish search and rescue organization Salvamento Maritimo, relaying all the available information. The shift teams tried to contact the travellers and find out information about the boat, but it was only the next day that the shift team heard from the relative, that the travellers had arrived in Motril.
