Situation: 7 travellers in distress in the Western Mediterranean Sea got rescued by Salvamento Maritimo.
Status of WTM Investigation: Concluded
Place of Incident: Western Mediterranean Sea

Summary of the Case: On the 12th of October, a relative alerted the Alarm Phone shift team to a group of travellers in distress in the Western Mediterranean Sea. The group of around seven people had left Tamsaman, Morocco, on the 12th of October, heading towards the Spanish mainland. We could not reach the travellers but informed the Spanish search and rescue organisation Salvamento Maritimo, relaying all the information the relative had shared with is. We continued to call the travellers but could not reach them. The next day we inquired with the Spanish and Moroccan rescue authorities to see if there had been a rescue that matched the boat in question, but there was none. In the morning of the 14th of October, we learned from the relative that the boat had been rescued by Salvamento Maritimo and brought to Motril, Spain.
