Summary of the Case: On the 9th of August 2023, a relative alerted the Alarmphone to a boat in distress in the Alboran Sea. The rubber boat carrying around 15 travellers had departed from Tazaghine, Morocco, in the early morning of the 9th of August in direction of Spain. The Alarmphone shift team did not succeed in establishing direct contact with the travellers but alerted the Spanish search and rescue organisation Salvamento Maritimo to them. Soon after, the shift team received the information from Salvamento Maritimo, that a boat that matched the information of this case had been rescued to Motril, Spain.

Border police patrols
While the exact location of patrols is of course constantly changing, this line indicates the approximate boundary routinely patrolled by border guards’ naval assets.
