Summary of the Case:In the early morning of Sunday the 12th of February the Alarm Phone shift team was alerted by a relative to a group of 56 travelers, including 11 women and 2 children in distress in the Atlantic Ocean. The travelers had left from Boujdour around 4:50 local time the morning before (11th of February). We relayed all the information we had to the Spanish Search and Rescue organization Salvamento Maritimo via E-Mail. When we called again two hours later Salvamento Maritimo confirmed a successful rescue operation of this boat. We forwarded those information to the relative.

Border police patrols
While the exact location of patrols is of course constantly changing, this line indicates the approximate boundary routinely patrolled by border guards’ naval assets. In the open sea, it usually correspond to the outer extent of the contiguous zone, the area in which “State may exercise the control necessary to prevent infringement of its customs, fiscal, immigration or sanitary laws” (UNCLOS, art. 33).
