Summary of the Case:
On 14 December 2022, we were also alerted by relatives of a third group which was stranded on Lesvos. We could not find out more about the number of people. The relatives only told us that they needed medical help after arriving on the island.

At 9:47 CET we alerted Greek authorities and several NGOs by email.

At 11:04 CET Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) confirmed by email that they sent a team to provide medical assistance to the people in need.

Some days later the people contacted us again and said they arrived safely at the camp.

Border police patrols
While the exact location of patrols is of course constantly changing, this line indicates the approximate boundary routinely patrolled by border guards’ naval assets. In the open sea, it usually correspond to the outer extent of the contiguous zone, the area in which “State may exercise the control necessary to prevent infringement of its customs, fiscal, immigration or sanitary laws” (UNCLOS, art. 33).
