Summary of the Case:

On 28 November 2022 we were alerted by 14 people, among them 7 women, who were in need of assistance after landing on Lesvos. They reported to be run out of food and water since 2 days and were dehydrated. At 10:41 CET we alerted Greek authorities and several NGOs by email.

At 19:56 CET the people confirmed that they were all fine and received the assistance they needed.

Border police patrols
While the exact location of patrols is of course constantly changing, this line indicates the approximate boundary routinely patrolled by border guards’ naval assets. In the open sea, it usually correspond to the outer extent of the contiguous zone, the area in which “State may exercise the control necessary to prevent infringement of its customs, fiscal, immigration or sanitary laws” (UNCLOS, art. 33).
