Summary of the Case: In the evening on the 28th of September 2022 we received an alert about 17 people in distress in the water off the coast of Lesvos. We made contact with the group who told us there are two pregnant women, their engine is not working anymore and say they are sinking. The group sent us their location, it is in Turkish waters. We immediately alerted the Turkish authorities by phone and email. We later got confirmation that the group were taken back to Turkey.

  • Border police patrols     
    While the exact location of patrols is of course constantly changing, this line indicates the approximate boundary routinely patrolled by border guards’ naval assets.
