Summary of the Case:
On 19 of September in the evening, the Alarm Phone was alerted about a boat in distress off Paphos, Cyprus. The boat had departed from Lebanon, with 170 persons, including women and children. On the phone, the people told us that water was entering the boat and that they were sinking. At 10:30 pm, we alerted JRCC Larnaca. We lost contact with the people on board. At 01:34 in the night, JRCC Larnaca officer said that they had found the boat and that the rescue ship was close. In the morning, JRCC Larnaca told us that they rescued this boat, as well as another one to Cyprus. Yet, according to relatives, the boat was pushed back to Lebanon.

Border police patrols
