Summary of the case: On Wednesday the 20th of July 2022, the Alarm Phone shift team was alerted to a group of three men in distress in the Alboran Sea. The travellers had left from Nador on a grey jet ski together with another group on jet ski. We were not able to establish direct contact to the travellers, but relayed all the information we had to the Spanish search and rescue organisation Salvamento Maritimo. During the following days we were never able to reach the travellers, nor to obtain a confirmation from Spanish authorities that they had been rescued. We were never able to establish what happened to the travellers, but hope that they made it to land by themselves.

Border police patrols
While the exact location of patrols is of course constantly changing, this line indicates the approximate boundary routinely patrolled by border guards’ naval assets.
