Summary of the Case: On the 28th of July 2022 Alarm Phone was alerted to a group of 23 people at sea between Samos and Turkey. Alarm Phone could not make direct contact with the people on board, but alerted Greek and Turkish authorities by email and phone, as the waves were reportedly very high and the travellers in need of urgent help. The Turkish Coast Guard (TCG) and Hellenic Coast Guard (HCG) could not confirm whether they had found the boat. The travellers later told Alarm phone that HCG stole their phones, money, and belongings, and destroyed their boat. They feared they would drown before they were found and brought back to Turkey.

Border police patrols
