Summary of Case: In the afternoon of Janaury 3rd Alarm Phone was alerted to a group of six children, two women and three men who had departed from Annaba in the direction of Sardegna three days previously in a rubber boat. The relative who alerted us to the distress situation provided a phone number, but were were unable to establish direct contact to the group. We informed authorities at 16.58 CET. We continuously tried to contact the people in distress, without ever being able to establish contact. After the night the relative who had alerted us did not respond to our messages or calls. Unfortunately we do not know the fate of the eleven people.

  • Border police patrols
