Summary of Case: In the afternoon of November 3rd we were called by a relative who informed us about a group of travellers in distress on the Atlantic route who had departed Laayoune. Among them were four children, 17 women and 41 men. We were unable to establish direct contact with the boat and alerted authorities at 16.21 CEST. At 22.55 CEST the same evening the Spanish Search and Rescue organisation Salvamento Marítimo informed us of a rescue matching the information the relative had provided to us.

  • Border police patrols
