Summary of the Case:

In the morning of the 30th of March we were informed about people in distress near Rhodos. In a video send to us, we see a drifting rubber boat, we estimate approximately 20 people, some of them in the water, holding the boat.At 08:51 CET we sent an email alerting the Hellenic Coast Guard about the situation.At 09:22 CET we receive the information that the people have been rescued by the Hellenic Coast Guard vessel 616.We couldn't verify if the people were safely disembarked in Greece or pushed back afterwards.

Border police patrols
While the exact location of patrols is of course constantly changing, this line indicates the approximate boundary routinely patrolled by border guards’ naval assets. In the open sea, it usually correspond to the outer extent of the contiguous zone, the area in which “State may exercise the control necessary to prevent infringement of its customs, fiscal, immigration or sanitary laws” (UNCLOS, art. 33).
