Summary: On Tuesday the 28th of October 2021, the Alarm Phone shift team was alerted by a relative to a group of 12 travellers in distress in the Mediterranean Sea. The travellers had left from Bouyafar the day before at 21:00 CEST in a wooden boat. We tried to phone, yet could not reach the people onboard. At 10:49 CEST we emailed the Spanish search and rescue organisation Salvamento Marítimo (SM) and forwarded all the information we had, shortly after we called SM Almeria. In the early morning of 29th September we learned that the travellers arrived in Motril. Boza!

Border police patrols
While the exact location of patrols is of course constantly changing, this line indicates the approximate boundary routinely patrolled by border guards’ naval assets.
