Summary of the Case:
On the 10th of June 2021 at 09:58 CEST the Alarm Phone received a call from a satellite phone. Accordingly to the travellers they were in urgent distress: The boat were not able to move and water were entering. Following other information were transferred: GPS position, 43 people onboard, all Sudanese people, they have left the day before at 01:00 CEST from an unknown Libyan city in a white plastic boat. The travellers wished to alert the authorities. We sent an email at 10:52 CEST to Italian and Maltese coast guard, to so-called Libyan coast guard and the NGOs Sea-Watch and Pilote Volontaires and the NGO rescue vessel Geo Barents. The situation worse and we tweeted at 11:53 CEST. At 13:26 CEST an updated GPS position is transferred to the so-called Libyan coast guard first by phone, later via email where all others actors have been included.
At 14:59 CEST we had the last contact to the travellers and assume they have been intercepted by the so-called Libyan coast guard.
